Ozone in industrial WWTP
Industrial wastewater treatment with ozone
Use of ozone in industrial wastewater
Industrial wastewater contains a wide variety of pollutants depending on their origin and type of industry, making them very complex to treat in some cases to comply with current discharge regulations. Ozone is a well-established technology in Industrial WWTPs as it allows solving complex problems very easily.
- Pre-oxidation of the flow before the biological stage, to improve the COD/BOD ratio.
- Recirculating Sludge Treatment, to improve the sludge volumetric index.
- Tertiary Reuse Treatment, to reuse water in the industry.
The powerful oxidation capacity of ozone makes it an excellent tool to work in any of these stages, as it has a direct benefit on COD, BOD, SS, SD, turbidity, color, odor, emerging contamination, and, of course, microbiology. Ozone is a simple and safe technique that achieves the most demanding results.
ZonoSistem advises engineering firms in drafting projects, as well as designing and manufacturing ozone generators for the actual project.
Carry out a Water Piloting with ozone in our laboratory before making the investment.
Ozone is a powerful oxidant, which is applied to water to purify
Ozone is generated on-site, it does not need to store or transport chemicals
Ozone does not leave residues, it is respectful with the environment
The system is automated, you do not need manpower to apply it
Problems with wastewater from your industry?
Advantages of applying ozone in your industrial WWTP
Reduces COD and BOD
Ozone is a powerful oxidant, which, when applied to industrial wastewater, reacts with dissolved or suspended substances that can be oxidized, whether organic or inorganic, reducing COD and BOD, reducing the level of contamination.

Reduces SS, SD, color, odor...
Ozone applied to wastewater oxidizes organic and inorganic matter that can be oxidized, reducing all contamination parameters, such as suspended and dissolved solids, turbidity, color, odour, etc.

First a Pilot
Before making the investment, we recommend doing a water test in our laboratory. In this way, we will be able to calculate the doses of ozone necessary to reduce the discharge parameters to the desired limits, before making the investment in equipment.
Without labor, automatic
The system generates ozone and injects it into the tank automatically, without the need to apply manual labor in the process. The equipment only needs to be connected to the tank to be treated and provide it with a point of light.
No chemical storage
Ozone cannot be transported or stored, it is generated on site, and it is applied instantly, so it is not necessary to store and manage chemical products, it avoids transport and reduces the carbon footprint.
Agent recognized by the ECHA
Ozone is recognized by the European Chemical Agency and ZonoSistem has all the necessary legalization documentation to be able to apply ozone in its process.
