Ozone in public pools
Maximum water quality
Use of ozone in swimming pools
Ozone is used in public pools as a disinfectant and purifier. Its disinfection power is much higher than that of chlorine, with the advantage that it does not leave residues, does not irritate the skin, eyes, hair, nostrils.
Ozone eliminates chloramines and reduces organochlorine compounds that cause unpleasant tastes and odors for bathers, as well as providing extra dissolved oxygen in the water, which improves comfort during exercise. It manages to reduce the use of chlorine, flocculants and coagulants in your pool by up to 80% and prevents the appearance of isocyanides. In addition, its powerful purifying capacity allows it to improve turbidity, SS, SD, providing more crystalline and pure water.
Ozone is not transported or stored, it is generated on-site and applied instantly. It works automatically and autonomously.
Saves chlorine and chemicals, and provides a health bath
Ozone reduces the consumption of chlorine and chemical products
Ozone is generated in-situ, it does not need to store or transport chemicals.
Ozone does not leave residues, it is respectful with the environment
The system is automated, you do not need manpower to apply it

Advantages of treating your pool with Ozone
Reduces chlorine consumption
Ozone has a much higher disinfection power than chlorine. With an ozone system in your pool, you will have to apply much less chlorine to maintain the required residual in the pool. It will also reduce the consumption of flocculants and coagulants and will reduce the appearance of isocyanates.
Top quality water
Ozone is a powerful water purifier, which reduces the organic and inorganic load through oxidation. By mixing it in the water, it reduces COD, BOD, SS, SD, turbidity, color, taste, odor. In addition, it does not alter the pH, and does not generate waste that must be treated. It provides crystal clear water, which the bather appreciates.
No odors or flavors
Ozone eliminates unpleasant tastes and odors in swimming pools, caused by the formation of organochlorine compounds, resulting from mixing chlorine with organic matter. Providing the swimmer with a unique and pleasant sensation in the bathroom.
Without labor, automatic
The system generates ozone and injects it into the tank automatically, without the need to apply manual labor in the process. The equipment only needs to be connected to the tank to be treated and provide it with a point of light.
No chemical storage
Ozone cannot be transported or stored, it is generated on site, and it is applied instantly, so it is not necessary to store and manage chemical products, it avoids transport and reduces the carbon footprint.
Biocide recognized by the ECHA
Ozone is on the list of biocides by the European Chemical Agency and ZonoSistem has all the necessary legalization documentation to be able to apply ozone in its process.
What type of ozone generator does my public pool need?
Below, we show you the ranges of ozone generators available for public pools.
1. What is the difference between the ranges?
The HIDRO V GZO-EPS range, and the HIDRO V GZO-ES range, are equipment for treating large pools from 100m3, and the application of ozone is done in the compensation tank, by means of recirculation. The first also includes an advanced PLC control, which allows automatic control based on Redox. However the second, the power control is manual.
The GHBB-E range is a range for pools with a size of less than 100m3, they are equipment with low ozone concentration, and the ozone is injected directly into the pool's recirculation pipe, before the filters. It has a manual power control.
2. What range do you recommend?
If you have a pool larger than 100m3, and you have a compensation tank, we recommend that you use the HIDRO V GZO-EPS range, which includes automatic power control. If you want to save some money, I recommend the HIDRO V GZO-ES, with manual power regulation. For pools less than 100m3, select the GHBB range.
3. How much ozone do I need?
Calculate between 0.5 and 1ppm of ozone applied to the pool recirculation flow.
